When Each Plan Makes Sense

Choose Minimum ($2,500 deductible) when...

  • Your vehicle is worth under $15,000 (lower risk)
  • You have a cash reserve to cover the deductible
  • You operate in a low-damage-risk market
  • Maximizing per-trip earnings is your priority

Choose Standard ($1,250 deductible) when...

  • You want a balanced approach (most hosts choose this)
  • Your vehicles are in the $15K-$40K range
  • You have 3-10 vehicles and need predictable costs
  • You can absorb a $1,250 hit without financial stress

Choose Premium ($500 deductible) when...

  • You have luxury or high-value vehicles ($40K+)
  • Repair costs are expensive (Tesla, BMW, Mercedes)
  • You are risk-averse and prefer peace of mind
  • Your daily rate is high enough to absorb the earnings cut

The Deductible Decision

Your deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before Turo's coverage kicks in. A higher deductible means more earnings per trip but more risk per claim. The math is straightforward:

If (estimated repair cost > your deductible) → file a claim
If (estimated repair cost < your deductible) → absorb the cost

This is why knowing the actual repair cost before filing is critical. Use our claim vs absorb calculator to run the numbers, or get an instant estimate to know your repair cost.

What All Plans Have in Common

  • All plans use Snapsheet for claims processing -- none get you faster or higher-quality estimates
  • All plans have the 3-inch wear-and-tear exclusion -- small scratches are never covered
  • None cover mechanical failure unless caused by guest misuse
  • 24-hour reporting deadline applies to all plans
